Hi. this is my first time on here. Wondering if anyone has any advice on SLK roof leaking. Cleaned the holes, seals and all good but yet it still leaks sideways into the side of my face when driving. Standard garage did hosepipe tests couldnt find where leaks are? Any suggestions

Hello and welcome,

SLK's don't generally leak... I'd partially open the roof, clean all the seals then apply gummi pflege (available online from Mick's Garage)
I'd also check that everything is opening and closing as it should do - Any pictures of the leak location?

Gummi Pflege or the more expensive Krytox which last's longer between applications.

Our old one did leak, mainly overnight but most visible in a car wash.

It was under warranty, MB tried hard to swerve it but eventually fixed it. The roof is a panel or something and the sealant had given up, it was in for a week and resealed.

If I’m honest it left a nasty taste in my mouth and hated the car after.

If it has a glass panel roof then that is an option, they didn’t use enough sealant on smart coupes so they leak.

The side panels/strips become un bonded, merc say new roof but we have re sealed them before.

Would this cause the seat belt behind the front seats to be wet?

I seem to recall that they all had the glass panel but, unless specced, MB covered it in cloth.

As it happens, ours had the magic something tinted/clear roof.

Only on earlier ones. Later on they had black panels.

On the earlier ones, they painted the clear panel
