Hi
Now we have some good weather at last my roof is being tempremental on my SLK. The windows go down, the boot opens, thats it. The motor/pump or what ever it is, is running but no movement of the roof. Any ideas? Has someone had this as well?

Hi
The car is 1998, and I had the roof down 2 weeks ago.

oh dear. it may need a trip to the fixers........the problem is if the locks release and you give the roof a hand into the boot it will go in okay but you wont get it back out...........suggest a trip to MB people.....just hope it is the lock not releasing enough......it will need lubricating.....if its anything else it may need a bit of an overhaul.

unless some one has had this before and knows an answer that is simple.

the cover in the roof lining around near the mirror. littel round plastic thing should pop out using a flatbladed screww driver. you should see an allen key socket....that should move when you activate the roof. if thats moving it may be other things.

Check the hydraulic resevoir in the boot behind the hatch on the right......might be a leak!
