SLK 200 (R170) 2004
I have a 2004 SLK200 (R170) that has recently developed an intermittent starting problem.

The turn the key, handbrake on and car in park, all the lights come up but the starter won’t operate.

RAC have attended and checked battery and starter motor and both fine.

He did a hard reset (unbolted the negative terminal for a few seconds. Removed and replaced two or three fuses then the car started?

Any ideas ???

It’s most often a problem with the K40 module, but I’ve occasionally seen the odd faulty starter motor too
