SLK200 - No remote control from one key only

One of my keys no longer operates the remote control on my manual SLK200 (2001) - the other key works correctly

I've changed the batteries - and the battery check lamp comes on.

Is there any way of repairing / resetting the faulty key or do I have to buy a new one !
