Anyone know how to "test" the "Check Valve (Air Injection System) " part number A 002 140 68 60 to check if it's working or not?

This is the dreaded "oil in MAF" 230K engine (which has been extensively covered in previous posts,) which, after trying ALL suggested "cures" still persists in my SLK:(:(

I am now at wits end stage and if I can't resolve the situation will be forced to sell the car on (after spending over £2000+ on the transmission) which, funnily enough isn't a problem with my older SLK 230K (1998) and I'm actually selling that one!??

Sorry Malcolm? "blocker" what's that?

This fits onto the camshaft adjusting connector smack on the front of the engine, and the harness connector plugs into that, that stops all oil from getting into the loom

Sorry Malcolm, I'm talking about where the oil comes from the kompressor end straight through the induction system and pollutes the MAF ::(
causing the CEL to be on all the time and MAF default mode:mad::mad:

I had the oil loom problem before (on the older one) and this was fixed, however, the MAF problem is a real pain!

Already tried that one, removed Inlet Manifold, checked airways - all clear.

I tried some of the American suggestions - seperate "Oil Separator," leaving breather to vent to atmosphere - car ran like a lame dog and burnt oil:shock:

Just looking on e-bay for cheap rope / razor / pills :lol:

It is almost unbelievable that some of these faults are so hard, that is one of the most common engines in the range

It's even more aggravating when the "older" car is more reliable and doesn't have this problem - which only appears to be on "later" cars - you would think the reverse would be true? I brought the subject of the check valve up as it was associated with this problem on another site - though it didn't go into detail:confused: of why this was a problem - it does appear on the EPC as part of the breathing "chain" but I can't find any reference as to how you would check if it's working or not? I think it would probably show up on STAR but it doesn't show up on my (limited) laptop programme.
