slow acting speedo

the speedo on my c280 elegance is sometimes very slow to move off the stop and comes into life at about 40 mph.it reads ok until stationary when the the fault is repeated.any ideas???

needs a new speedo head, a bang on the dash will make the needle come up. there is some one out there that repairs speedo heads? i think they adveratise in the exchange and mart

mine did exactly the same......wipe the needle with anti static cloth as first option before buying a new speedo head...disconnect the battery first or else your srs light will come on when you put the clocks back in as a fault code will be sent to the brain....hope this helps you

mine seems to have come back although not as bad....thing is is seems worse when dash is lit
