My CLK 320 is slow to respond sometimes. Mostly when cruising then booting it. Doesn’t seem to leap into Down changes as expected- I’ve had one before - and the W/S slider switch doesn’t appear to do anything. Fuse ?

I don’t know the ins and outs of this box but could it be adaptive and learns/assumes your driving style this causing the issue rather than a fault per se?

W/S I will imagine are winter and sport modes. I would guess the w would reduce/power torque for winters conditions.

Pulls away from standstill in second gear when W is selected.
Could be a few things without seeing it, but how old is your MAF airmass sensor?

Could be. I’ve had it a couple of days so I’ll thrash it in S and see

I’d read bits and bobs on airmass. Cleaned it and it seems more urgent now but might just replace that also - thanks

If they’re ageing they give poor throttle response and can make the gearchanges odd too. Certainly worth replacing by the sounds of it
