Slow starting of engine

Hi all, I am.hoping you can help. I have a 17 plate CLA 200d shooting brake. It is taking quite a bit to fire up I think it may be cold damp mornings but seems to be getting worse? It's been serviced and MOT'd 2 weeks ago and was at Mercedes for a health check and plug in prior to that for a software upgrade. However the problem persists....... any ideas ???? Trouble with starting is normally either glow plug related or fuel.

My starter motor went at 70.

Slow start on diesel can also be battery.
Are you able to give it a proper charge over night/when cold, then try starting it? It's a cheap test.

depends on.... is it turning over slowly ? would indicate battery
Is it spinning as normal ? maybe fuel or glow plug related.

Glow plug or air leak or weak battery.
Test battery voltage / put it on charge would be first job.
Test Plugs.

A dying starter would be surprising, but as mentioned does happen.

Yes it spins as normal so thankyou glow plugs maybe a possibility!! Thank you

Minor air leak into fuel system can do that too.
