2004 clk 500
Hi Folks,

Bought my wife a 2004 clk which she is well pleased with (brownie points methinks!!).
This is my first 'toe in the water' with Mercedes so you may have to be a bit gentle on me if this is a stupid question..
Sunroof, only opens an inch at a time. Closes in one smooth movement. Also do these roofs not have a one touch operation?
Also, why do the windows rattle when you shut the doors?
Any ideas gratefully appreciated.

Thanks.

You could check the oil reservoir in the roof pump to make sure the level is ok

Oil reservoir? I thought it would be electric? Perhaps a switch problem?

It may be anything , a computer diagnostic would pin it down . The roof moves under hydraulic pressure so there is a reservoir on the pump with oil in it . My later CLK (2009) has the pump in the left hand side of the boot space behind a pull out flap

Ok, strange things seem to happen with Mercedes? As I said this is my first venture into the brand.
First impression, very well screwed together but, why so complicated???
So, an oil reservoir for the sunroof to look at, what about rattly windows? Or, should I not have asked that question? Lol

clk3202001,sl6002003 with everything regrettably sold ,A class 170cdi auto. NG/TF1800 ML250
complicated, hole in one with over complicated !!!. welcome ,nice motors, when they behave . thing is ,it seems a battle at times between behaving for us (economic and reliable to run ) and behaving for the dealers (parting us from our cash and a seemly deliberate design to prevent/frustrate owner maintenance ),often we are on different pages . lots of good info on here tho. start a file ,save print anything relevant to yr model. WELL worth it and likely save you a fortune , esp if yr handy at yr own repairs ..

I was wondering Wighty!
OP. Roof is electric (unless it's a convertible in which case the folding mechanism is hydraulic).
As mentioned earlier simply clean and lubricate.

Well, at least i took part of the advice!
Wife is cleaned, polished and lubricated, PROPER thank you for that!! Lol.
New question- removed the comand APS and replaced with touch screen thingey.
Thinking about putting comand on ebay with owners manual but getting very different ideas on price? Any ideas what it is worth?
