Sluggish Electric Wing Mirror - ML320

Can anyone advise on how to access the electric motor / drive mechanism on my 1999 ML 320. When I deploy / fold in the drivers side mirror its operation is getting very sluggish. I imagine it needs lubricating but am not sure how to strip the door down to get to the mechanism. I am aware that there is an air bag in the door.......does this require any special precautions??

Hello Marra, if you are referring to the folding in part, you can spray some PTFE spray into the folding part under the mirror, then operating the mirror with a little assistance it should go back to normal.

PTFE lubricant will not hurt or damage the paint.
