Sluggish kickdown

I have just got my 124 280TE back from a head gasket job and having the electrics to the coils repaired. Since I've got it back it seems to take ages to think about kicking down a gear. It goes through them OK but when floored (without switch) in either economy or standard it doesn't drop for about 5 seconds. Any ideas anyone, many thanks!

I'd say the garage hasn't adjusted the kickdown correctly (obviously the linkage would have had to come off to replace the head gasket). Take it back!
