Hi everyone out there.
I have just bought my second Merc, (well 3rd if you count the Smart)
I now have a CLK 230K 2000 model year and need some much needed help!!!!
I had a side light go out on the rear drivers side, so merrily went and purchased a bulb and fitted it, then the brake light went seconds after on the same side so fitted a new bulb. Thats when the problems started!!!
Now sometimes the brakelight works, other times the indicator flashes and so do the tail lights etc etc.
Anyways i removed the side panel in the tailgate as I found some 'additional wiring' attatched the that side of the car. When I looked inside I found a bright orange 'Smart Box'??? Does anyone know what this does or even if it is needed? Also the wiring goes out through the air vent behind the rear wheel arch.
The car has no signs of a towbar ever been fitted either! So now I'm just totally confused!!!! PLEASE HELP if possible.
