I've been trying to figure out why is the strong smell of burning oil\fumes coming from AC\heating for last few weeks; I've replaced washer under one of the injectors (black death was visible) and cabin filter; no joy so far, any recommendations on what to look for?

possible the other injectors are leaking?
Fill the injector wells with water, you will see bubbling if they are leaking still.
If not, then check for fuel leaks, low pressure lines, fuel filter lines etc.

cheers for that;will try to use same leak testing stuff around injectors as for airbags leaks testing

Also check for snapped studs on exhaust manifold and /or leaks.
