Hi All

There's smoke comming out of the multi function control aram (Indecators and wipers etc. arm) when I try to use it to put the full beam on. I have cleaned it with electrical contact cleaner checked all I could see. Any ideas, can anyone help.

(1994 - E220 Estates)

Thank you

Ben

Smoke can only mean that the resistance is too high. It could be mucky contacts, though I'd expect the muck to burn off, or else the contacts are not 'contacting' as well as they should, due to either wear on the contact surfaces themselves, or the actuators and springs not pushing as hard as they used to. In either case, I wouldn't muck about - fire isn't funny.
Replace the switch.
