Left it by my office in Totnes, no chance of getting out and a 6 hour journey by train to get 10 miles. Also a pic of Torquay seafront this morning after Storm Emma

My C220 this morning. The drive home from Portishead yesterday afternoon was "interesting" :)

Just done the prescription collection run for my mum, so a bit of slush on the running boards and in the wheel arch.

You will also note that the driveway is clear of snow. Call me old fashioned, but my take is quite simple. It snows, I need to use the car. I get up earlier than usual, having prepared the kit I need to clear snow the evening before, as the forecast said there was a chance and areas around have had precipitation. In the time it takes for my breakfast coffee to cool sufficient to drink, I pop out the front door with my trusty snow shovel clearing the entrance way to the door, 1 stripe along the side of each car, across the front, up the other side, across the back, then clear the rest of the drive to the pavement.

I then take the blade like brush, often available at Ideal Home Show and country fairs, and clear the snow off the car roof, bonnet and surfaces. It annoys me seeing cars roof loaded with snow and a peephole to see out of due to laziness of drivers. If no brush, use your arm, it's only snow ffs.

If no tracks in the road, then I quickly clear the road outside my frontage. If tracks, then pop over to the grit bin, 4 coal shovels of grit spread.

On arriving home I then de-snow the car.

As just now, the slush on the road outside my frontage has just been cleared using my trusty snow shovel. It really isn't difficult.

In the morning, as it'll be saturday, lots of neighbours will be out clearing the road in front of their houses. It's the domino/shame effect. Works every time.

I collected my wife from work yesterday. Some 20 minutes after travelling one bit of the A339 there was a car go off the road and cause gridlock. So turned around and let oncoming vehicles know the road was blocked. Had to take a route of lanes home via Ellisfield and Farleigh Wallop. As we got to a junction up a hill there was carnage of 4 vans polishing the road to ice. Some 25 vehicles behind on the single track lane. My wife and I were the only people to get out and help get the 4 vans up the hill with the respective drivers. Lots of tooting of horns.

Proceeded to Farleigh Wallop where the lane is like a roller coaster, found how well the hill descent works, clever bit of kit. Through snow drifts forming that closed a lane behind us.

All good fun.

This mornings drop her at work run saw drifting snow, but a local farmer was out ploughing the road in each direction.

Lets see what the collection journey is like later, as it's just started snowing again. Might put the trusty snow shovel and chains in the car. Chains not for me, but in case we get other vehicles stranded again and we can get the road clear.

I didn't drive anywhere, was just messing about seeing if I could get it up the slope of the driveway, which eventually I did, pointlessly IMG_20180302_141655978.jpg

She was clever and walked the 100 yards for breakfast, her last words were, 'I'll meet you over there!'
At least I didn't get stuck and the road home was just right with the right amount of salt
Saw these too

Why would I want to hide such rarity? Joking aside I really rather like it. Didn’t to start with but do now.
