I'll be leaving Mercedes ownership shortly - I've reverted to type and bought myself a nice VW Caravelle :)

I'll be selling the C240, and I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the help and advice from this here forum.

I already waste far too much time on VW forums, so I guess I'll not be spending any more time here.

So, thanks again, and take care.

Oh, and if you know anyone that wants a nice low mileage C240 Elegance.... ;)

thanks for playing......

I shall probably be going that way myself at some point and reverting back to Audi. Just waiting for the new A6 to get into my price range.

btw, like the Hitch Hikers Guide reference.

Funny thing is I have VW for 2 weeks now, although I can't wait to get rid of the shopping trolley. Anywhoo goodbye ;

So long, and thanks for all the fish
So sad that it should come to this
We tried to warn you all, but, oh, dear
You may not share our intellect
Which might explain your disrespect
For all the natural wonders that grow around you (MB?)
So long, so long, and thanks for all the fish!

Charming man. I wish I had a daughter so I could forbid her to marry one...

I just thought, before I go, I should regale you with the new motor..

TADA:

Rear engined VWs are the future, I tell you!!

Although this isn't the reason I bought it, I'm kinda hoping I'm right - Splitscreen buses are T1 - they are silly money (£40,000 for an immaculate one, restoration basket cases as much as £10,000). Bay window buses which are T2 are following the splitties pricewise. Demand is increasing for them because no-one can afford a T1.
Mine is a T3... Hopefully it'll increase in value as T2s get more expensive.

I've seen the future - and it's shaped like a house brick!! :D

oh freddled grunt buggly, they victumations are to me as plurdled gabbleblodgets on a luged bee,

group I implore my fronting tunrligdromes,
and hooptously drangle me in crinkly bundlewurldes,
for otherwise I shall rend thee in the gobble warts,
with me blurglecruncheon,
see if I dont......

TTFN, enjoy your brick. "It hung in the air in exactly the same way bricks dont"

Malcolm... if you still had that, it'd be worth a fortune!

The big thing in VWs at the moment is signwritten vans.

Do you mind if I borrow the picture and post it over on a VW forum? They'd love to see it.

the van in the last thread I bought new in 1961 for £610 that was with a £40 discount

the first one here is a 1957 I paid £180 in 1959.
second is when I was doing the sound for Rolls Royce on their open day

If you know someone on a ford forum that's my 1962 Zodiac mk11 cost me £600

Cant find the best one.

The 1957 van blew its piston on the day the M1 opened, the new had 3 new clutches in the first 25k miles

Did you keep the meteor that hit the last one?

What happened to the Zodiac? It looks like someone dropped a building on it!

If you have no objections, I'll post the photos on the other forum... I'll come back here with a link to them so you can see what people think :)

Stop making me laugh, it was trolley bus standard number 18 that jumped out and hit me in Criclewood Broadway, London. One of the side pieces of my glasses went through the quarter light and door frame, I can just see it now.

I did not rebuild it
