Experiencing occasional softer brake pedal - longer travel to bite point - No obvious fluid leaks around wheels - no loss of resevior fluid - but have noticed that when the pedal is soft and travels too far [almost to floor] - if pumped there is a 'air sucking noise' from under dash area - Is it possible this indicates a servo leak or perhaps a pipe leak - and would this give these symptoms - no warnings are flagged on the screen indicator - Paul

Your Mercedes
S class
You may possibly have a master cylinder problem, where one of the systems seals have perished..you need to get it checked pronto.. very dangerous..

ITS A 2003 CDi ESTATE DIESEL [W210] - NEW TO ME BUT ASSUMED ALWAYS BEEN SERVICED SO NOT SURE ABOUT BRAKE FLUID CHANGE - IT DOES IT MORE WHEN ON MOVE - ESPECIALLY WHEN KNOCKING OUT OF CRUISE eg WHEN APPROACHING A ROUNDABOUT AND NEEDING SOME BRAKING - WHEN STATIONARY WITHOUT ENGINE RUNNING PEDAL HARD - GETS SOFTER WHEN ENGINE RUNNING - BUT NOT ALWAYS - PUMPING STILL HEAR SUCKING SOUND ON PEDAL RETURN - Paul
