I have some service work to do on our new little Mini, oil and filter change and brake pads all round.
As i had some spare time at work decided to google the brake pad change, as i did not know where the connections were for sensors (in a different place to the R56 GEN 2).
Anyway, this so called expert, looked like the clip was in USA, has posted a video of rear brake pad change, what a complete joke. It was like watching someone who had never held a tool in their life. The worst bit was when he stated that the calliper piston has to be pushed in to install new pads, quite correct, but he went on to use a large g clamp and just tried to force the piston back in !!!, when this was a struggle, he got a bigger bar on the g clamp and carried on forcing it in.
ON THE MINI REAR CALIPER THE PISTON HAS TO BE PUSHED AND TURNED CLOCKWISE TO GO BACK IN, AS THE HAND BRAKE WINDS IT OUT TO ADJUST !!!!.
I wondered if the hand brake worked after this expert had installed the pads ?
sometimes i just wonder
