Some help for 300e

I've searched the forums but haven't found what i'm looking for.

Problem with starting my 91 300e. Very occasionally it starts first time, most of the time it takes two trys to get her going. This is regardless of whether the engine is hot or cold.

The oil was changed last october but its only done about 500mls since then. I bought the car last month and i think it sat about for a wee while, 10000mls in last 4 years. Only 500mls in the last year, if that. Cars done 86000mls

Could this be the problem??

Probably the battery is on the way out due to lack of use. That is certainly the first port of call.

Could be fuel pump relay, or, as it was with my exact same model...the engine timing dial set to S instead of N for 95 Octane unleaded...worth a check.
