I don't speak the language or have the time to trawl through all the ads, but the general rule is go for the newest, highest spec you can. One I see has APS50 - do you care about sat nav or have a tomtom?. It all depends on your financial position and requirements at the end of the day so, whilst I can't tell you which is best, I'll give you the standard info.

Cars from 2002 to 2004 may, or may not have been galvanised. Post 04 are. Check rear wheelarches for any signs of corrosion. MB should fix it FOC though but do check that they will as there are rules.
Check for any slip of the torque converter and look for a Valeo radiator (do a search on the subject "Valeo").
Check for flat batteries or other electrical problems. These are more common on earlier models and can get expensive.
The 270 is good for high mileage but as with all cars, service history is critical.

Simple, rule: Always buy the highest spec, with the lowest mileage, with FSH (no gaps!! to prove mileage) and least number of owners. E-Classes in black and Silver are the easiest to resell.

Always check when the next service is due and the state of the tyres as you may end up with £1K bill immediately after buying. Good luck!!

Not sure on the interior if the fabric on the door panel is anything to go by.

It may not have leather, but abroad in colder climates it is not as popular there as it is here, and at least it will not go rusty

E CLASS -211 series- saloon and estates: -

All steel panels were galvanised from Quarter 1, 2003, production onwards.
During the previous quarter (Q4, 2002) the process was gradually introduced
on the production line and therefore some vehicles were galvanised during
this lead-up period, but not all.

You may laugh, but rust marks on leather is a pig to get out, it also saves on wear and tear on the fingers to roll several things into one

It great when one can see a double meaning on a post :D:D

One of the best ones was where a guy said that he had a breakdown on the way to work, and we sent him to Claire Raynor and Marjory Proops.

So keep up the good work barn door and I hope that you do not close it on the way out:wink::D

I am impressed by everybody's grasp of German - I took one look at the websites and sat there scratching my head ...

One thing I did notice though, with the drop in the Pound vs Euro, the MB's accross the water no longer seem that cheap ...
