Somebody keyed my car today...they failed to notice I was sitting in it closing down some calls with the helpdesk.

The piece of pond scum appeared to key my car for no reason. He just put a big score in the nearside rear door, and not just a little scratch at that. I got out and accused him of keying my car which he denied.

I of course took a picture and reported the matter to the police. The police think that this area is covered by CCTV. The helpdesk were on the phone for the duration of the incident and all the calls are recorded.

Lucky I was in my company vectra. You can see the reflection of my Vectra in the guys car and it wasn't even parked close.

Wait till you see what he was driving?

If you see this car around, please feel free to have your keys in your hand.

4x4.....

It's very odd how someone would randomly key your car ... I don't understand people one bit....

Perhaps it was one of the spammers taking revenge!

Just reminded me of the fantasy extra post, how about when the car feels it's in danger or senses an attack it could send out a huge electrical current, enough to blow the preditor over 4 cars...

Very sorry to hear what happened.

Just as a fact of life 30% of all Rolls Royce cars of off the road at any one time due to vandals and low life people.

Sorry to hear that turnip, thankfully though no excusing it, it was your company car. If it had been me, the photograph, would have been of him, lying flat on his back.
Hope the police sought it for you.

I was over at www.124works.com (Shameless plug) on Sunday and Ian was showing me a E Class that had been keyed after it had been resprayed. Why?

I'm really, genuinely shocked at this...

I've always thought that the kind of scum that keys cars are the small minded idiots who do it out of jealousy... They're too feckless to get a job and buy a nice car themselves, so they damage everyone elses.

But this guy was driving an M class? I've never understood it, but I'm absolutely flummoxed(*) now.

(*) Today's special word :)

To start, I understand that everyone has different morals and ethics but I would have reacted totally different in this situation.

My car goes to the bodyshop tomorrow to get a key mark fixed which happened in August. It is going to cost me close to £400 and I'm still bitter about it as I have good word that it was one of my neighbours that done this to my car in my own driveway at 2:00AM. I can't prove this 100% but since we are at loggerheads with the neighbours then I expect it was them who done it. I contacted the police at the time but they couldn't do anything about it apart from give me a crime reference number and advise me to contact my insurance.

I have plans to get retribution on the culprits, I am simply biding my time for the right moment and to do maximum damage to them, eye for an eye et al.

I look forward to the day where I am actually in my car when someone scratches it in a scenario to this, no matter who the person who done it was, if it is done intentionally, I would not involve the police but give them there dues in violence.

I understand that if we done a poll on this forum, it maybe a 50/50 split between who would contact authorities and try to resolve it via a 'civil matter' or those who would be a vigilante and release the anger with physical violence.

I would not have let his M-Class leave the vicinity without ensuring that at least two or three panels had my boot marks on them whether he was pulling away or not. If I could get him before he could get into the vehicle he would need to leave it in the car-park overnight as he would not be able to drive it for being so badly injured.

I understand this is an aggressive post but I find it hard to understand that someone could let another person away with behaviour like this and due to my lack of trust in the authorities, I would take the matter into my own hands. It has also allowed me to release some anger that I have this week knowing that I need to spend close to £400 to have a scratch removed, the first time I've had a car maliciously damaged in all my years of motoring.

I'm at a loss to explain it. I was working at Fleming House in Cumbernauld and had to go over to Tyrst, it's only a couple of hundred yards away and the Merc was parked there when I arrived.

I doubt he took a note of my number, but I have his. I'm not the only Silver Vectra on the road so he will not recognise me. I could be in another car anyway.

The police will be speaking to him shortly.

It was the company car so it will not cost me anything. However my sense of justice says that everything should be done to have him charged, to make up for all the ones that get away with it.

If he was there today then there is a very good chance he will be there another day, he might work local? I'd go searching for him.

It is unlikely he will be sweating on it overnight about you confronting him but I can imagine the look on his face if you approached him tomorrow or later this week and wanted to have it out with him.

I can imagine he is at home now, feet up, watching telly and not bothered about it at all, it is in the past to him now. Whereas the 'victim' is at home raging that his property (albeit, a company car) was malicously damaged but the idiot had the bear-faced cheek to deny it at the scene.

This is how the barnie with my neighbours started, they bumped my wifes car, minor scuffing, said they would pay for the damage at the scene, then for him to drive on and got his car repaired and polished during the day, by the time the guy got home that evening he denied he had even seen my wife that morning.

Maybe that explains my bitterness to folk reading this?

Totally understand your feelings over this one, we have had two Hoodies hanging round our neighbourhood, trying to break into a neighbours van for tools (Drug money) unfortunately for them they were set upon on Saturday evening (I could not possibly think who would do such a thing) and lets just say they definately will not be coming round again as one had to be dragged off by the other. I never thought things would get so bad but it has definately got to the point where you must look after your own.

When the police go to visit him they will see that he is a large rougher sort of gentleman and there will be little doubt that he did it.

He got very aggressive when I took a picture of his car even though I explained that he was in a public place and I had every right to.

I wouldn't be surprised if somebody does the same to him some other day, only a lot worse.

I watched Falling Down last night...what a great movie.

I expect his car will having locking fuel fillers. I did think about a rotten kipper or fish oil into his air vents on the external below his windscreen.
