Today we have a W220 S320 CDI, towed in as a no start.
Brief diagnostics show that it clearly has a faulty engine ecu. Logging sporadic codes about nothing, even with only connected to power and comms. We set about to replace the customers ECU with a second hand unit supplied from a donor car.
Once on the bench, it was clear to see the ECU had a bit of water damage (make sure your drains are clear!)
A few minutes later, after some black magic:
We now have a functioning W220, although its ESP module is also waterlogged so we will now turn to that!
We can clone ECU's, write software to newer ones or all manner of control module related stuff, so do give us a call if you are not sure!
