Sound Deadener for engine

Can anyone who owns a petrol 190/190e please confirm if the whole underside of your bonnet is covered with a foam pad for sound insulation?i have a bad feeling mine did have but after a trip to mechanic it has gone!i just cannot be 100% sure

My 1986 190E, as standard, had the pad in the area shown on this pic (the bottom 1/4 of bonnet), but in the picture it's been removed. I think only the later petrols may have had the full pad, and other countries' models may or may not also.

I bought a new full-size pad (actually, it's the one to fit early diesel models), which fitted like this:

Hi

I want to do the same thing to my 123 200. When i enquired at merc, they told me they were only fitted to the 280. Ive been trying to find someone with a 280 so i can 'borrow' the chassis number to order it.

Any other source would be great.
