Is there anywhere, or anyone who specialises in soundproofing vehicles?

I wanted to make my Mercedes 500 SE abit more sound proof.

Only i cant stand getting into my brothers BMW 740 and it sounding so much more quieter from the outside elements, specially as the Merc is so much more classier..

Thanks boys.

Spoke to noise killer, they said they do it for £320 including fitting.

They said theyd take £300 cash.

It weighs 20kilos though, and didnt really wanna weigh my car down anymore. lol

You guys reckons its worth it?

I just wanted to restrict the sound flow from the windows mostly.

But then i am keen to restric vibration and make it all a more comfertable drive- How much of a difference this 'NOISEKILLER' will make i dont know.

And for £300 dont know if i wanna take the risk without someone else's experience of them.

I did my Citroen Berlingo a few years ago with the self adhesive rubber pads that you can get from most car accessory shops. It worked really well.I put the stuff everywhere, door panels, floor, engine bay, rear door etc.The car was much quieter but I did notice a slight drop in performance because of the weight of all that rubber:confused:
Before I started I stripped everything out of the car (Apart from the drivers seat) and took the car for a short test drive to try and get an idea of the before and after noise levels..........the car went like a rocket ship,I was really surprised and I wasn't expecting it:confused:
Your soundproofing idea will work but it will affect the performance slightly.
One unexpected result of my soundproofing my car was that more tyre noise entered the car because before you couldn't hear it with all the other noises going on:rolleyes:

When I eventually put my car up for sale I think it put a few people off buying it because it had been messed with????

Good point.

So is there an alternative as in restricting noise that comes in from the windows?

Your Mercedes
Was an E300TD, now a Lexus LS400
Sell your car and replace it with a W140 with double glazed windows :) Then yours will be quieter than your brothers!

Im no looking to sell the beauty. W140 just doesnt compare to the looks of the w126 IMO.

Mine has 64k miles on it and im fully restoring her and putting her in storage.
