I am in the process of acquiring a 54 plate C180K Sports Coupe and there is only one key available which is pretty scratched and worn (but otherwise seems to work fine).

I would like to get a spare key and presume that an MB dealership will provide this. Do I need any documentation and should I check that the key I will get when I exchange is the master key or can any key be copied?

Fyi the key I am getting is the one with the central locking, i.e. I think it is the master key.

Also, any idea what this will cost?

You mean the V5C document right?

Thanks very much for your help.

Mine cost just over £150 including the blade. You will get the chrome one which is very nice.

Yes it will be the chrome one at £150 as said you need ID and log book

You could buy a key on Ebay and change the case for the old one
