I thought it was 60k, although there is a 5 year rule too.
Basically, if she gets a bit lumpy on idle swap them out. Otherwise it could be fine for a fair while yet.

I had mine changed on my C43 at around 80k miles, 7 years. They were fine - I just thought it about time.

I think they all last a long time, but there are still different grades of 'long lasting' plugs available.

I swap mine out in the 500E every 21k mls and clean and reset every 7.5k mls. Even the 4 ground electrode plugs wear (but obviously not as quick). I must admit it horrifies me to think that the spark plugs should be made to last 100k! Having had a spark plug disintigrate in an engine I certainly don't push them further than I have to.

I had mine changed on the C43 at 55k, 5 years.

A year later had them cleaned up when having problems with MAF, coils and HT leads - precautionary really and as BCS were playing with the ignition anyway it didn't cost much more to whip them out.

At 34k it might be worth having them cleaned and reset but only, as jberks says, if idle is a bit lumpy.

removing V6 plug leads

Just thought that I would mention here, the removal of leads on the 112 V6 and the like. The leads should not be pulled off due to the very high risk of damage to the coil packs, I have mentioned it before. The metal covers on the leads have rings around them, an open ended spanner should be placed between the rings and you lever them off using the rocker cover as a fullcrum point.

I was hard put to get a finger to them on the 240. No chance with a spanner!
Good advice though, after 2 expensive sets of leads I can testify, they are rather fragile!
