Merry Christmas to All......... I have a 1987 190E and the ATF is a bit low,can i top it up with any make of ATF or has it got to be MB fluid ?The MB handbook just says ATF for automatic transmitions but i read on here somewhere that you need special MB fluid, which with Christmas , work commitments and nearest MB garage 25 miles away i wont be able to get for a couple of weeks.

I would suggest Shell Autotrans oil. Meets all the specs stated by MB. Available at your nearest Shell fuel station.

PS. Make sure you do it as per the book. Be careful not to overfill as this is bad.
