In all my years of operating on engines of all tpes, only once did i encounter a broken stud .. [ my fault ] and i am talking from 1960 until now. . And the only stud that broke on me was one single exhaust manifold stud on number 6 of my then trusty Mercedes W123.. So as it is, i dont do much work on engines any more . Just the odd repair so i dont need the tools . But if i did a lot or repairs, then it would be one of the first tools i my garage .
