specification history of SL500

I seem to remember, whilst late night forum binging, a few months ago, coming across a link on here somewhere, that would give you the full build spec, inc interior colors etc of a merc, if you had chassis number. I've just bought a R129 1998, with very creamy colored interior. I would say it's champagne or something similar, maybe Saffron, i think they called the very creamy leather? its certainly not Mushroom. i'm looking for some trim parts and need the correct name as internet photo's colors can look completely different to the actual.

Anyone know where that link is? I think it was eastern Europe from memory?

Also anybody had any experience of getting and fitting new seat covers to replace very worn originals? My drivers seat has a hole and being cream, passenger seat very shabby looking and considering a new set of covers?

Use the "VIN Decoder for Mercedes Benz" from the App Store - It is a Blue square with VD in white.

As for the seats have you thought of getting them professionally restored??
