Speed Sensor - Speed pulse sensor

I am fitting a Sat Nav system to my SLK. Can anyone tell me the best place to pick up the speed pulse signal.

there should be some behind the dash near the stero although I am told you can pick it up anywhere, even along the side channels above the sill and maybee even in the loom in the boot.

Thanks for the advice Koolvin. I was kinda hoping for something more specific - a wire number or connector pin number?
