speed signal - speed signal on R reg SLK

Can anybody tell me the best place to connect a nagivation unit to the speed signal on an R reg SLK 230?

I thought R reg has the speed signal on the A connector for the stereo already ...  from memory (and its been a long time, it may be a black/green-tracer cable.
