Speedo gone wierd

If this is a proper speedometer and not an LCD plaything it's probably a mechanical fault with the stepper motor.

Just curious ..... doesn't a 'proper' speedo have a cable drive?

Speedos have been electrically driven for years with a mechanical 'clock' in the dash.

Ive stuck MB2 on this morning expecting to have instrument cluster faults but there are any, surely there should be if things aren't working correctly??

Update , i dismantled this again just now , it turns out id managed to put a small plastic retainer strap on upside down so the swing arm on the speedo was catching it at 30 mph , oops !
