speedo packed up..

the speedo's just packed up on my '93 S320 Limo (electronic), I was wondering if the fault may be in the drive mechanism in the g/box, which seems all ok underneath, or is it more likely to be the Dash, could anyone throw some light if they've come across this before, thanks.

Also I get a bad s/wheel shake above 40-50mph, I have been advised to change the steering rack damper (shock) as it is a common occurance I've been told, and it is knackered, please advise on your thoughts?

I would get the wheels balanced first. 40 to 50 is about the speed they start shakeing when balance is required.The spedo you will need to check with a meter to find the fault. :wink:

Hi, update, balanced wheels, no different, fitted new damper to rack.....solved problem!!...just the ****** speedo, any ideas how much MB want to plug in it??
