Speedo problem

Can anyone tell me why my speedo says i am doing 120+ the rev counter reads 2500 rpm in top gear.
Even in first gear the speedo seems to go up with the rev counter.
The car is a 190D 1992.
Is the speedo electronic or cable?

its cable that means it is probably the head unit faulty.
