So I woke up to find some spineless freak has taken the bonnet ornament off my 190E. They havent made a mess thankfully. I assume this has been a problem in the past to most merc owners. Is it an easy repair? how much will it set me back? and are there any alternatives to putting it back?

Sorry to hear that, all to common unfortunately. However they are not expensive from Mercedes (generally cheaper than ebay and you know you are getting the correct one for your car) and a lot of dealers will fit them free for you whilst you wait.

Was an E300TD, now a Lexus LS400
And connect it to 10KV to give them a nice shock. Like a taser.

They dont cost much. Why not make one out of wax or somthing and spray it silver.

Had a little old lady near me who made shillings out of ice for the gas meter.

If you think you may be going to have an ongoing problem, with your local morons Klown. There is a removable one slightly more expensive but may give you peace of mind.

Cheap and easy to fit too, vise grip on the twisty spring loaded thingy under the grill, pull and twist till it lines up with the cut out in the grilll. Then just pull out. New one is the reverse of removal but you only have to twist no pulling involved. I remember buying pattern part ones for about 12stg.
