Split AMG bumper. Repair tips/links please!

Hi all,

Bumper has split on our W220. It was repaired some 8 years ago but the repair has failed/suffered impact again.

What is the best way to repair the split again please? Plenty of epoxys/meshes etc out there, and i have no idea where to start. I'll be doing the repair myself.

I know it's not specifically the answer to your question ie DIY solutions .... I watched a local body shop use a system that used a metal staple that was heated up & pushed through the damaged panel so tha the staple bridged the split. It was then filled etc as usual. It looked a good repair but obviously you'd then have to buy all the kit if you were to try it yourself.

I am planning on using s/steel tie wire stitched through the non-visible parts, ie the underside and behind the grille.
