Spring Compressors for Mercedes w124

Does anyone know where i can get a merceds spring compressor from. it has to be cheap.. Not £400 ...please can someone help.. somewhere in london uk would be great.

Having said that, you can do the job without a compressor.

Hi harjeet

I did finally change the bottom arm on my 190E. I used a pair of conventional spring compressors, the type that clamp on to the outside of the spring. You have to be careful though. The hardest part of the job turned out to be extracting the rear pivot bolt from the arm. It put up quite a fight but I suceeded in the end. After that the job was pretty straight forward. The tricky bit is to set the castor/camber angle correctly. I carefully marked the position of the cam bolts before removing them and put the replacements back in the same positions but its still not 100% right. I'll probably have to have it adjusted by the dealer eventually. I'll monitor the tyre wear.
