Hello all,

I have just registered hoping to find what is wrong with my 1997 2.3 208D.
Quite simply she isn't getting enough fuel, the problem is particulary bad driving uphill and I have to drop a gear and run at 3500 rpms or so. Changed the fuel filter but to no avail. It occasionally cuts out and won't start for 10 or so minutes. I was looking at another thread about a breather pipe and also a charcoal filter but am not sure if this van has that filter. Could it be injectors? Would Bosch diagnostics find something?
Just hoping to find some info to start off in the right direction.

Cheers,

There's an inline fuel filter on the chassis pass side about just back of the pass seat, no one ever changes them, try that first.

Correct!

Good call dava, the gauze type filter thing was clogged, I can hardly believe any fuel could get through. Another minor niggle with the van was that it wouldn't run when the fuel gauge read 1/4 full, could this also solve that? I have just been keeping plenty in it but am curious to let it go lower now.
