I have a 02/2000 sprinter 312D - not CD :-(.
Bought it late June.
The ECI has some problems that Mercedes cannot fix because it is non field programmable. Can anyone help please.
Problem 1
Speedo reads 10% LOW across the board. In Australia every town has a speed camera and every 200km there are distance/time cameras now. Lose my license if I go over the distance/time or limit on 3 occaisions. I need the speedo adjusted desperately. Thank god for the GPS.
I bought a ScanguageII trip computer.
Problem 2. Scanguage reports RPM at about 1/4 of dash tacho.
Problem 3. Scanguage reports speed as either 0 or 255kph.
Problem 4. Scanguage reports distance as 10x .
Other readings - Boost 37.4PSI always - variable turbo is working,
Temperatures - strange readings, Havent taken much notice.
Scanguage manufacturer has offered a replacement board but I would like to correct the hard code in the ECI if I can first.
I am an electronics engineer. Designing embedded micro products since 1980 so physically attacking the eci is no problem.
If someone has the ECI design data so I could change the circuit from an eprom to a EEProm and/or the code for a later vintage 312 I would love to get the info.
Thanks
Ray
