Hi, hoping someone may be able to point my in the right direction with a technical query.

I have a motorhome based on a Merc Sprinter. I'm hoping to get a maximum allowed mass upgrade done but as part of that, the company looking into it for me need to know the maximum load rating of the existing wheels (not the tyres, the wheels themselves).

The alloys have a Merc part number A9074012700 on them but I cannot see anything on them that looks like a load rating. Any ideas please?

Most sprinters come on steel wheels because of the load rating. The previous owner might have added the alloys…

The A907 number seems to me to relate to Sprinter, so I would expect the wheels to be factory fit.
I've had the same query on Vito / Viano, wheels / tyres should be load rated. On tyres it's obvious but I've not found a way to determine load rating of the wheels.

What I 'assume' is that if the wheels are factory fit for that model then they will be capable of bearing the max load the handbook details for that model.
So really that would be the highest of the max axle weights divide by 2.
I don't see you can go higher than this in any circumstance as you would then be running the vehicle beyond it's certified limit.

Another thought, if you run the VIN number
you should be able to confirm alloys were fitted, and the weight rating of the vehicle.
There should also be a plate on the vehicle that details max axle weights.

Thanks all. That's given me a few lines of enquiry to follow.
