Sprinter Cruise control

Hi Newbie here

Someone told me that if you bought the cruise control stork you could simply plug it in.

Would anyone know if this true?:

No, you need to activate this also within the engine management etc, which i think can only be done at Merc, or perhaps it can be done at an indie aswell, anywhere with the right equipment possibly. I've heard arguments for each. However, this is supposedly only a 10 minute job so shouldn't cost you too much......famous last words.

the sprinter needs to have ABS then has to be activated by someone with a star diognostics,i bought one for my sprinter but before i had it installed my van got crushed between two skip waggons,so when i orderd a new van i got it with cruise already fitted,so i still have the other brand new in the box going cheap for any one that wants one
