Hi all,
I'm trying to find a list of all sprinter engine types since 1995.
Also, I would like to know how to identify which engine is which by looking at the engine numbers on the block.
I see that different model sprinters use the same block, for instance OM611 is used in various models but has different power outputs. In this block, are the mechanical parts all the same and is power output electronically determined?
I've heard people mention G1 and G2 engines....is this another form of identification?
The reason behind my question is that we regularly break sprinters from our fleet through wear or accidents. All our sprinters are pre 2006 308CDi and new model 311CDi. I need to know which engines are interchangable with other models so we can sell the engines.
We've also noticed that the engine wiring loom from our year 2000 308Cdi is different from a year 2005 308CDi. There's a different amount of connections at the ECU. Does anyone know in which year the wiring was changed?
Any help gratefully received.
Cheers,
Andy.
