Sprinter, No Drive

I have just changed the engine in a 906 sprinter.

It has an om 651 engine and 5 speed auto box.

However regardless of selecting Drive or reverse the sprinter will not move, i have checked the oil level in the gearbox and it appears to be correct.

I have checked the electrical connection and the gear cable , these also appear fine.

Is there anything else to check before i suspect the gearbox may be faulty?

What year Sprinter ?
Are you using the original engine harness.?

Was the torque converter aligned OK when the engine was replaced? Do you have any evidence that the drive is actually getting into the gearbox? If the g/box was OK before the engine was changed, there should be no reason, apart from linkage or electrical why it's not working now!

Like many fault-finding procedures, as others have well said, look to the last operation for the problem.
