Something on the front nearside is causing a squeal, and rattling. It started happening out of teh blue.
The other day we took the wheel off and checked the pads and caliper, everything is rock solid and tight. The outer pad is bound to the caliper, the inner pad is clipped in and rock solid.
We discovered the track rod end was shot, so replaced both of them, and the noise went away for a day or two - but now its coming back. Its brake squeal and usually when turning. If I slam the anchors on at low speed it will go, or reverse and it will go.
So I'm guessing perhaps the caliper is sticking on one side? Also I have no idea what the rattling is (although the ARB links and ARB bushes want doing), it could be related, it could just be a noise I've picked up since hearing this squeal. There are no scrapes or wear marks anywhere in the wheel well that indicate what is rubbing so it must be the discs?
Any idea if a rebuild kit is available for 1997 W210 E300TD front calipers?
