Hi,
First time forum user - not sure what to expect on Monday morning when I go to my local MB dealer with my SRS defect which came on today.

May 2005 E-Class 270CDi which I bought Dec 2006 from the same dealer that I'll go back in to Monday.

I'm hoping that this will be covered via the 3 year warranty, however the only service due since I've had it I went to an independant as they were about half the price of MB for the service, (24000miles).

Appreciate any advice on where I stand from a warranty cover point of view?
Thanks

You are free to have the car serviced where you like providing its been done to the required standard and this does not affect any warranty that you may have

don't worry. My E was been serviced twice at an indie. The dealer still did a number of warranty repairs. He knew it had been serviced elsewhere and even commented that the indie was known and he rated them. No problem.

No Problem - excellent service

Don't know what I was worried about - MB in Hamilton - no questions about my Indie service took the car and sorted the problem.

Appreciate the advice anyway - by the way the SRS Defect on this E-Class apparently needed a rewire within the steering column/wheel. They weren't very specific about it, apart from saying it was "common".

Anyway it was in all day getting sorted. I hate to think what this might have cost if it had happened in 2months time when the warranty has expired...

Thanks again
