I recently bought an Icarsoft MB v.3 for my 2011 viano. I have the following fault reading. "The component or the signal line to the c omponent S68/2 (Passenger seat belt buckle switch has open circuit or resistance too large). I have checked the connections underneath the seat and all appears to be connected properly. Would this be a faulty seat belt buckle? Could it be a fuse?

Is the SRS light up on the dash?
I don't trust iCarsoft to be spot on with everything..

Otherwise I guess the buckle switch could be faulty, or wiring.
How does it read with the belt engaged?

if you are not wearing the seat belt and driving do you get a warning icon and bleeping, then what when you plug it in.

Yes. I get the srs light on the dash and the message saying seatbelt system visit workshop. If someone sits in the seat without putting on the belt there is no bleeping. So it's like the system doesnt recognise that someone is in the seat without the belt.

Can you unbolt the 2 seat belt receivers and swap them? For diagnosis

I finally just bought and installed a new seat belt buckle. All sorted. Was a bit awkward managing the wires underneath the seat but we got there in the end. Easy job but needs a bit of patience.

I had just seen this post and was about to suggest a new buckle - I had exactly the same problem and the same symptoms when I got mine 2nd hand.

In my case, one of the wires in the seat belt buckle had severed just from the bending of the seatbelt buckle when attached. Hadn't seen this issue in other cars before. Also a bit odd as the drivers belt buckle is used three or four times more often that the passenger one. Anyway, as long as it has an easy fix.

I recently had to replace the drivers belt buckle. So its one to look out for on 10 year old plus vianos.
