Hello and welcome,,this is the second time that this has been reported, I wonder what they did.

The SRS light can only be turned off in STAR as it is a safety item, an indie is much cheaper to use and see what has gone wrong

Hi - I had the same problem last year. Mine was caused by a faulty sensor in the passenger seat. The sensor detects the presence of a passenger and turns on/off the airbag on the passenger side. Mine was intermittent and I noticed it also brought on the pax airbag warning light on the centre console of my E300. The problem is that even with a passenger in place, the airbag will only operate if the sensor detects their weight. So - rather than risk non-operation of the airbag because of the faulty sensor, I pulled the fuse on the SRS system which takes the sensor out of the loop - no power - and the airbag will operate whther or not their is a passenger in the seat. certainly more expensive if you have a bump but infinitely better than it not operating with a pax on board.

The sensor is fitted to the passenger seat and replacements can be bought from MB or Ebay once you know the one you need - mine was £27!

Hope it helps

If you need any info on how to do the job please ask when you know where the fault is
