Hi, 53reg W211...I needed to remove the drivers seat and having unplugged the wiring to the seat I now have the SRS light on after refitting, I am also getting a malfunction on the dash "restraint system fault". I think I pulled the plug with the key on the first position, how do I get the fault to go away please?

Anyone with a diagnostic test set can take it away you could try a battery disconnect for 4 mins

Thanks Malcolm, it doesnt need to be done on the Star then? When you say battery disconnect do you mean both batteries or just the main one?

The diagnostic gear has to be MB compatible like an Indie might use.

The battery would be the one for the car electronics and not starter

Battery disconnect didnt work so it needs to be cleared, I assume if the ignition key was out when I unplugged it this would not be a problem, I will make sure before I unplug anything in future.

These are bad cars for leaving the key in for too long, it should not take long to clear the codes
