Illustrate friend,

My English is excused not to be very clear, but I will try to write with the best possible precision within my reach.

I have a vehicle Mercedes-Benz model C280 SPORT year and model 95/95

As the authorized workshop Mercedes is to hundreds of kilometers of my city decided to take my vehicle in a dealership GM place.

I took the vehicle with the intention of painting it for shocks lineman (front) and back because there were risks.

Until there everything well.

One day after leaving the car in the workshop, the tinker tied saying me that the car didn't work, arriving there could verify that it didn't work more the button of the electric
restraints, the lights of the superior console and for that the button of the alarm key didn't also work.

We called an eletric attendance that discovered a burned fuse, we changed and everything usually worked again.

after painted the for shocks lineman (front) and behind went to look for my car, and now when giving the departure I noticed that the light of SRS is accesses for more or less 1 (one) minutes and later he fades.

I had looking in the at shocks lineman and I saw something as if it was a sensor badly fit among the friezes of the grating, him if it seems with a hinge of a door of black color, however with a fitting fastener and a long thread, giving the impression of to be fit in in the for shocks.

I am under the impression that the tinker disassembled it for shocks and he forgot the position of fitting of that piece and it put it of any way among the friezes, because I had never noticed the existence of that piece in that place.

He still alleges that the light began to light after he ordered to wash the car. Will it be that a jet of water didn't beat in her? Once a friend said that in his FORD TAURUS the Airbag worked when in the gas station they gave a strong jet of water in yours for shocks.

Does that have to do with the light of SRS that is lighting?

How can I give a reset in the registration of mistake of SRS without needing to
take the car in the authorized?

Please, feel a light.

Where can I lower the file or CD with the diagram and schematics of my vehicle?

Hugs and have a great day.

More

Well, I am still with some doubts:

How did I take my car for paint the front skirt and with that they did disassemble the front bumper, is it possible what the apparent sensor that is out of the place on the right front side of the bumper the cause of the lighting of SRS it was in the panel? Fastening him in the right place the light can come to normalize?

Or then due to it burns of the fuse that change had been still some of the airbag can exist burned? that is, the fuse that had burned was responsible for the start of the alarm for the key, superior lights of the console and the start of the button of the restraints of the doors. Does fuse of the airbag that can be burned exist? Which would his location be?

Did a friend say that maybe the system registered a mistake and will it be necessary to do a checksum to turn off the system error, does that only give to do in the dealership or does some parallel way exist to turn off the registration of the eventual mistake?

Thank you.

there is a sensor in the front that is connected to the SRS and AIRBAG systems. this is possible.

it is possuible that the system will still have a fault registered - try removing the battery for a long time (more than 2 hours) to see if that corrects it.

Do you not have a brazillian Mercedes club / website? or ?spanish? website that would be easier to speak in?

http://www.google.es/search?hl=es&q=mercedes&meta=cr=countryES ?

http://www.google.com.br/search?hl=pt-BR&q=mercedes+&meta=cr=countryBR ?

2 HOURS?

Dear friend,
once again thank you very much for her attention.

I appealed to this illustrates FORUM because here in Brazil no there is anything in the gender, the official site of the Mercedes-Benz that always gives us the same answer just exists: "seek one of our authorized workshops" - and that most of the time becomes unviable, besides they be few, the cost of the service is very loud.

Well, returning to my case, tomorrow early I should be going at the workshop where I took the car to paint the bumpers and I will take her piece of advice, I will turn off the cable of the battery for superior period at 2 hours for the light of SRS to be seen normalizes, however, it would like if possible of removing more two doubts:

- where I can find or to lower in the internet the placement outline (schematics diagram) and correct location of the sensor of SRS that it is in front of the vehicle (bumpers), above the site that you indicated display the electronic outline but it doesn't show the place of assembly of the sensors

- done turning off the cable of the battery of this car model for more than 2 hours the mistakes register once will be always extinguished? If it doesn't normalize which the steps that I should proceed?

Have a good week and once again thank you.

If any part of the SRS (airbag) system is disturbed without first disconnecting the battery, a fault will be registered.

The SRS sensor fault light must be reset with the STAR diagnostic device. Disconnecting the battery will not reset the fault code.
