Hi,
Could anyone please tell me how urgent I need to get my car into the garage as SRS Faulty is showing up on my dashboard. I have 4,000 miles to go until my next service, Is it worth waiting so I could kill 2 birds with 1 stone and hopefully save some cash?
Many Thanks

It really depends on how long 4k is for you. You won't save any money by waiting and as a critical safety device is off-line I personally wouldn't leave it. It may just need a reset, or else the earlier you know what the problem is, the longer you have to source the part you need at a sensible price. I'm not sure there is any legal obligation aside from the fact that it is an MOT failure.

Not sure its an MOT failure, i didnt think it was part of the test......as some drivers choose to have their airbags disabled for various reasons......

Edit........SRS light is NOT part of the test......Just found this item on a 'MOT questions page'......

AIRBAGS
Q...I have a 2002 clio expression 1.2, 16v. The passengers side airbag in the seat was triggered before I bought the car. I have to MOT the car in January and want to know what the regulations are for airbags which have been set off. The airbag light on the dash is on permanently as a result although the other 3 airbags were not triggered. Will this cause a fail on the MOT test?

Q...Hi there. When I turn the ignition on my airbag light comes on but also stays on until I turn the engine off. The airbag light staying on, is this an M.O.T. failure? Thanks Neil

A...There are no checks at all on airbags as part of the MOT Test.
